Mr. and Mrs. Martin Wesley Guess of Hattiesburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Courtney Lynn, to William Smith Turner, Jr., son of Mrs. William Smith Turner of Hattiesburg and the late Dr. William Smith Turner.

Wedding vows will be exchanged at 6 p.m. on December 17, 2011, at Danforth Chapel in Hattiesburg.

Miss Guess is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Clark Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Wesley Guess, all of Hattiesburg.

Mr. Turner is the grandson of Mrs. J.D. Sims and the late Mr. J.D. Sims, and Mrs. Harry Leland Turner and the late Mr. Harry Leland Turner, all of Hattiesburg.

Courtney is a graduate of Oak Grove High School and The University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Pathology and Audiology. While at USM she was a Luckyday Scholar and a Hattiesburg Debutante. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Audiology degree at The University of Southern Mississippi.

Mr. Turner is a graduate of Oak Grove High School and The University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. He is employed by Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services as a Registered Nurse.

The couple is registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond, and Westside Studio.
